Can we have an option to sort versions by when they were uploaded, rather than the entered version string? That would be helpful when my product manager taps the link in the email, which shows him the latest version by build number, which may not be the latest that was uploaded.

    Hi Jason,

interesting suggestion. For which page do you want this, the download page or the list of versions that is visible to developer and members, but not to testers? Would the new sorting also apply to the API response, i.e. would the last uploaded version always be considered to be the latest one?

    Kind regards,

    Thomas

Both pages would be helpful, actually (the download page, as well as the page for each app). We don't make use of the API yet, but if it's not too difficult, we could eventually see that being useful, too.

    Hi Jason,

you might not use our API directly, but HockeyKit / BWHockeyManager does use it to determine if a new version is available.

I am not sure if I correctly understand your motivation, so let me rephrase my question: Do you want the upload date to decide about which version is considered the newest and offered to beta testers for download? Let's say you have uploaded build 2.1.3 today at 12pm and one of your team members then uploads a build for 1.4.6 at 3pm. Which version is then offered to beta testers, i.e. put at the top of download page?

In your example, the 3pm build would show up on the download page.

I don't know how other teams do this, but we have one engineer working on a 1.4 version of our app, at the same time I'm working on the 1.3 version, and another engineer is working on a bugfix release, 1.2.1.
When we send builds (a couple times a day), they could be from any of these versions, but it would help if the product manager could see the last one that was sent to him.

    Hi Jason,

thanks for the feedback, I have put it as a feature request on our list. I keep you updated about our progress.
