We primarily use HockeyApp for testing our Android app internally - and our users are pretty universally confused when they're asked for a UUID for their device.

The site should be smart about what sort of testing the user is invited for and only ask for iOS specific information if they're involved with an iOS test.

    Hello Matthew,

thanks for letting us know. Do you happen to know on which part the users are getting confused, since we are not asking them for it when accepting the invite. The only part we can think of right now is on the dashboard. We are planning to change to title from "Your Devices" to "Your iPhone, iPod, or iPad" to make it more clear that only those devices are meant to be added there. The text says "iOS devices", which is probably too technical.

If you have any more details or other questions, please let us know.

    Best,
    Andreas

This happens when the user is invited, but chooses to set up an account. During this process, they are presented with a screen that has a field near the top which asks for their device UUID.

    Hello Matthew,

we investigated this but can't reproduce the problem. If I invite a tester to an Android app and he chooses to create an account, he should only see the registration screen (with first name, last name, company, and password) and then arrive on the dashboard. Can you do a screenshot of the screen that you are referring to?

    Thanks,

    Thomas
